Game Overview
Projet Vertigo is a game designed to help players confront acrophobia, the fear of heights, through an immersive virtual reality experience.
The player simply has to go eat a burger, but the burger is located at the end of a plank suspended high above the ground. The objective is to walk across the plank despite the fear of heights and retrieve the burger.
Project Context
This project was developed as part of the Virtual Reality and Immersive Environments course at UQAC during the winter 2026 semester.
Tools
The game was developed using Unity and tested with a Meta Quest 3.
The experience also requires physical elements, including a plank and fans, to improve immersion.

My Work
I was the Lead Developer on the project. I worked on the game's core mechanics and managed a team of four colleagues.
Plank
I measured the physical plank used for the experience and recreated it at the same scale in the game to ensure consistency between the real and virtual environments. With more time, implementing a system to automatically measure the plank when the game starts would have been preferable.
Sound
I developed the audio system around the player to improve immersion. The sound of the wind gradually becomes more intense as the player moves forward, reinforcing the sensation of height and danger.
I also added a wood creaking sound with each step the player takes on the plank to increase tension and immersion.
Interactions
I developed the main interactions allowing the player to grab the burger, place it on the plate, and complete the game.
